App startup and ports
Diagnose launch failures and local server conflicts.
The Electron app starts a local harness and serves the interface from the same machine. The normal port is 8799. If another process already owns it, packaged builds may select a fallback port automatically.
Loading screen
A loading screen appears while Brainwrite starts its local server. It gives way to the main window once the interface is ready. Closing the loading screen stops the start-up.
App opens but never becomes ready
- Quit Brainwrite completely (Brainwrite → Quit, or ⌘Q).
- Check that no Brainwrite process is still running, in Activity Monitor.
- Open Brainwrite again and wait for the loading screen to finish.
- If it still fails, look at the desktop log in
~/Library/Logs/Brainwrite, and send it to Support with a diagnostics export from Settings → General → Diagnostics.
